Ugg Australia - design for a cause

Gooday mate!

I was invited to enter a competition held by Talenthouse which is to create a new design for an Ugg boot. Its quite exciting to have a go at designing for such a big brand! I wanted my design to have to be quite a similar colour to the light brown uggs we see everywhere, as I am a fan of that colour on boots. But of course it had to be a little bit quirky so I put little birdies all over them. Here's some pics.....

The winner of the competition gets their design put into production which is very cool, and as well as that, the public can also vote for their favourite, and this Ugg will be recognised as the public's choice. So if anyone likes my design, give it a vote! Voting starts on the 27th Dec - 5th Jan. You can vote for my ugg here (if you like it and want to make me happy) : http://www.talenthouse.com/creativeinvites/preview/ab2b67276b55de34ae904b1ff182d5e5/363

Cushions

well heelloooo. I recently went rummaging through my room in a half arsed attempt to tidy it, and ended instead finding a bunch of fabric samples from a 3rd year project at uni. I had some really nice plain black and white screen prints on this really thick canvas material and they have all just been sat in this bag for about a year. So i thought i'd turn em into cushions! I have a craft fair coming up on the 10th of Dec so I am going to try and sell them there..... here's some pics....

Headingley Arts trail....and a trip to the cake shop...

Hello...
so the Headingley arts trail has been on this weekend. It was a really good event, there was such a big variety of work which was really nice to nosey around. I ended up exhibiting at Edgerton Road at the top of Otley road, which was in an absolutely gorgeous big house. My cards seemed to go down particularly well, and doing this event just makes me want to enter more craft fairs...they are fun! Especially if you pair it with a visit to a cupcake shop for afters. nom nom.

Headingley Arts Trail!

Helllooooooo there everybody!
Once again I have ignored my blog for much longer than intended...my absence however was due to the  plotting and scheming for the upcoming Headingley Arts Trail in Leeds, which I have new and shiny work for! I have some new artist prints (such as the one above), and a teeny range of screen printed cards. The trail itself is located in houses around Headingley, starting at the Bowery, which incidentally, is where my work will be presented. Its on the 12th-13th November, if you like looking at or buying things arty, this is the place to be!

New prints for childrens homeware

I am so pleased to have had the opportunity of doing a whole new project; so nice to start something new! Anyway, I have completed a range of children's home ware designs for Swatch loft, and I have my fingers, toes and everything else crossed that they will go down well and sell! The designs are printed onto silk cotton...here's a little lookey!

New drawings!

I have been working hard in the organized mess I call a 'studio' to create some new drawings to add to my portfolio. These little fellas will turn into designs soon so watch this space!

Amazing woodblock prints!

My lovely friend ellie found this amazing company's website - Tugboat Printshop - printmakers who hand carve their prints from wood. I love it! I think the wooden blocks are just as nice as the actual prints, and I would purchase all of them providing I wasn't poor. Go on their website and have a gander...now!

a little browse in the past

hello again. Been a while since my last post, and have since moved house, finished uni with a 2.1 (yey!) and generally been a busy bee. I've just been reminiscing by looking at some of my previous uni projects and found these card designs we did for a brief with Tigerprint. I do like them, especially the cake related ones. why does cake come into every aspect of my life?!

Prints for fashion and other stuff.

So here are some pictures from my final major project that are to show the design context of my work. My idea was to produce a range of work that could be applied to a variety of products. Using the magic of Photoshop, I have draped my designs onto suitable products for my designs....I think the bear tee-shirts are my favourite.
