Spanking new card designs!
hello!! I have been busy creating some new greetings cards to bulk up my portfolio. I wanted to try a slightly different style to show a bita versatility, so i created these in illustrator and made them look a bit more graphic/blocky. Here are the results, and I am rather proud of them if i do say so myself!

Penny Choo and Velvet Olive
Thought I'd post about a couple of things that have caught my eye recently and these are work by Penny Choo and Velvet olive. Penny choo was recently on the print and pattern blog, and her work features retro style imagery and colour palettes. She has a fab range of cards that I have enjoyed perusing through, I particularly like her scotty dog card. To have see more take a look at her website here
Then there is Velvet Olive. I first saw their work in Paperchase and instantly fell in love with the simple but bold shapes and colours and typography. The designs to me just stand out so much and I think i may just buy some cards and stick them up on my bedroom wall! The Velvet Olive website is here

Things I have been doing.
Hello again dear blog. I have neglected blogging recently because of trying to manage alot of other things...making my website look nicer being one of them! Any how lots has happened since my last post, I have made a new series of prints called 'french fancy' and also spent much time and effort (and alot of cursing and blinding) printing these so I could make them into purses. I also was at the Reet Sweet Valentines fair at the corn exhange in Feb, where I tried to sell these new additions! The fair was good fun, and our stall looked amazeballs in comparison to our first one. So, here are some piccies about it all that I should have put up a while ago! The top two pics feature work by Punto Belle, who does lovely light drawings and textured framed work that is all free machined. Find her work here.
My purses and new prints are available from my folksy store: hello, freckles

Ugg Australia - design for a cause
Gooday mate!
I was invited to enter a competition held by Talenthouse which is to create a new design for an Ugg boot. Its quite exciting to have a go at designing for such a big brand! I wanted my design to have to be quite a similar colour to the light brown uggs we see everywhere, as I am a fan of that colour on boots. But of course it had to be a little bit quirky so I put little birdies all over them. Here's some pics.....
The winner of the competition gets their design put into production which is very cool, and as well as that, the public can also vote for their favourite, and this Ugg will be recognised as the public's choice. So if anyone likes my design, give it a vote! Voting starts on the 27th Dec - 5th Jan. You can vote for my ugg here (if you like it and want to make me happy) : http://www.talenthouse.com/creativeinvites/preview/ab2b67276b55de34ae904b1ff182d5e5/363

Cushions
well heelloooo. I recently went rummaging through my room in a half arsed attempt to tidy it, and ended instead finding a bunch of fabric samples from a 3rd year project at uni. I had some really nice plain black and white screen prints on this really thick canvas material and they have all just been sat in this bag for about a year. So i thought i'd turn em into cushions! I have a craft fair coming up on the 10th of Dec so I am going to try and sell them there..... here's some pics....

Hello again! Just thought i'd post a picture of this screen printed cat t-shirt I did for my friends birthday a while ago. The drawing was from one of my third year projects. Having a brain like a sieve I forgot to take a picture of it at the time....so here it is! voila!

Headingley Arts trail....and a trip to the cake shop...
Hello...
so the Headingley arts trail has been on this weekend. It was a really good event, there was such a big variety of work which was really nice to nosey around. I ended up exhibiting at Edgerton Road at the top of Otley road, which was in an absolutely gorgeous big house. My cards seemed to go down particularly well, and doing this event just makes me want to enter more craft fairs...they are fun! Especially if you pair it with a visit to a cupcake shop for afters. nom nom.
